Finding ways to understand and process health information during the novel coronavirus pandemic is hard for everyone, but it can be especially overwhelming for children. Healthy NewsWorks (HNW) is an organization that aims to empower elementary and middle school students to engage in health and literacy by providing them with a platform to publish their fact-based work and digital media. Through school-based initiatives, students are encouraged to become researchers, writers, critical thinkers, and confident communicators. In order to help kids, educators, and families better understand the new coronavirus and its impact, HNW recently launched a new resource page, Making Sense of the Virus. The web page includes articles, illustrations, and videos created by student reporters and other kid contributors. Content is updated regularly—check it out today!

Healthy NewsWorks welcomes additional suggestions from teachers, parents, and health experts about topics you’d like to see on the new web page. Please contact: Editor@HealthyNewsWorks.org.
